Epoxy Coatings
One of the most common applications for epoxy coatings is the use of epoxy compounds as paints or coatings. Epoxy coatings also gain popularity because they offer metals and other materials a strong, fast-drying, and protective coating. Unlike typical heat-cured powder coatings, they may be applied quickly and easily, making them perfect for a variety of applications.
Epoxy coatings are used for many different things; from strong adhesives to long-lasting paint and coatings for floors and metals. Epoxide resin and a polyamine hardener combine to create a chemical reaction that is necessary for the formation of epoxy coatings. The combination of these two compounds results in a "curing" process. This process can take several minutes to many hours, during which time the epoxy coating changes from a liquid to an incredibly robust and dependable solid.
Epoxy coatings are used by professionals for some of these main uses, such as:
Flooring applications: Epoxy coatings are used as epoxy floor paint by flooring specialists in commercial and industrial applications.
Metal container and can coating: Metal containers can easily be kept from rusting by applying an epoxy coating; this works best when the containers are used to package acidic goods like tomatoes.
Steel corrosion-resistant coatings:Fusion epoxy powder coatings are used to prevent corrosion on steel fittings and pipes used in the oil and gas, water transmission and concrete reinforcing rebar industries.
Marine and automotive applications: An epoxy coating will guarantee paint adhesion on boats and cars and also prevent corrosion because it functions as a primer.
White goods coating applications: Epoxy coatings are frequently used as powder coating on dryers, washers, and other “white goods” because they are simple to apply and long-lasting.
